After the crowd-pleasing release of ragga influenced lead single “Smoke N Hope,” labelhead Liquid Stranger now generously reveals the Unity EP on SSKWAN. SSKWAN existing as the sole brother label to WAKAAN and explicitly honing in on the encompassing scope of downtempo and ambient electronic music, the lionized producer embodies the bona fide essence of SSKWAN through this deep-seated body of work. A complete and utter contrast from his prevailing high-energy, potent bass releases, including his most recent 2022 EP, DIMENSIONS, Unity triumphs as one of Liquid Stranger’s more emotive records in his extensive discography, gradually guiding listeners into a five-track treasure trove of softer production arrangements.

Featuring refined elements reminiscent of beloved 2015-2016 releases “Dissolve” and “Freefall,” the EP has an intentional focus on freeform instrumental beats, while still managing to preserve his signature low end basslines in a different sense. Paying homage to the title, each song exudes a personal significance to the EP as a whole, demonstrating its unified force and touching on the deeper meaning behind it.
